People ask us for a trip plan often enough that we figured we'd just write it down. This is the version we'd actually give a friend flying in for a long weekend 🌻 not a tourism-board list of everything you could possibly do, just the riding that's worth the trip.
Day 1: Arrive and warm up on Slaughter Pen
Get in, get settled, and don't try to do a big ride the day you fly. Slaughter Pen is the easiest call for an evening spin. Tristan's Trail, the connector that runs right off the property, gets you into the system with zero drive time, and it's forgiving enough to ride on tired legs. Day 2: Coler Mountain Bike Preserve, full day
This is your big riding day. Coler has 20 miles of trail and jump lines that reward being fresh, so put it on the day you're most rested. The Airship café is on site if you want lunch without leaving the trailhead. Our guide to staying near Coler has more detail if you want to plan ahead.
Day 3: OZ Trails Bike Park before you head out
If your flight's in the afternoon, a lift-served morning at OZ Trails Bike Park is a good way to close the trip without another big pedal-up day on tired legs. Where you're staying matters more than people think
All three of these are reachable from Oakwood Oasis without the trip turning into a series of long drives 🌻 that's deliberate, not a coincidence.
